Dr. Bobbi Jones, D.C. specializes in Pediatric Chiropractic, specifically for infants with torticollis (rotation in the neck), colic, digestive issues, and crawling and walking challenges.
Dr. Jones also specialized in Somatic Trauma Therapy which provides emotional and mental support in facilitating a physical release of emotions and stress stored in the body. Somatic Therapy uses vocal guided imagery and specific stress reducing, Neuroscience-based, touch techniques to decrease triggers associated with traumatic memories.
This therapy was developed by Medical Doctors and Neuroscientists using the latest research on the effect of traumatic emotions on our brain and bodies. It physically rewires the brain activity and creates Delta Waves, the most restorative brain waves, allowing one to process the emotional trauma without the need to do talk therapy.
As a patient, you are asked to recall a certain traumatic event or emotion, without having to share any details, just the feeling, that has repetitively interfered with your life. Dr. Jones will guide you to will locate where in your body that emotion is being stored or creating discomfort and disease. Somatic Trauma Therapy quickly and significantly decreases triggers to that event or emotion, allowing our survival brain to be less sensitive and defensive. Dr. Jones focusses on helping patients recover from PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Eating Disorders, Self-Destructive Behaviors, Pregnancy Anxiety and Fears, Post Partum Depression, and past Childhood Traumas.
Each Somatic Session lasts between 45-60 minutes, and can be highly effective when talk therapy is either an intimidating option or has no longer provided sufficient recovery. Many clients find significant decrease in triggers within 1-5 visits, allowing a more successful and permanent recovery.
