Dr. Bobbi Jones provides emotional and mental support in facilitating a Somatic, or physical, release of emotions and stress, using guided imagery and specific stress reducing, science-based, soothing touch techniques. This therapy was developed by Medical Doctors and Neuroscientists through the latest studies on the effect of traumatic emotions on our brain and bodies. It calms and rewires the emotional brain activity, allowing one to process the emotional trauma without the need to do just talk therapy.
As a patient, you are asked to recall a certain traumatic event or emotion, without having to share details, that has repetitively interfered with your life. Together, Dr. Jones and you will locate where in your body that emotion is effecting your health and help determine ways to decrease triggers to that event or emotion. This is a highly successful treatment for PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Self-Destructive Behaviors, Pregnancy Anxiety, Post Partum Depression, and past Childhood Traumas.
Each Somatic Session lasts between 45-60 minutes, and can be highly effective when talk therapy is either an intimidating option or has no longer provided sufficient recovery. Dr. Bobbi Jones specializes in Trauma Therapy, Eating Disorders, Pregnancy, Post Partum, Early Parenthood, and Sexual Abuse Somatic Therapy.
