This ancient Japanese practice offers philosophical, practical, and humanistic principles to your individual and private self-evolution. Being “in Zen” is what modern medicine has identified and calls being in “The Flow” or “The Zone.”

Somatic Trauma Therapy

We all have, sadly, experienced some form of trauma. The past three years alone have taken a universal toll; and at Zen Wellness Center, we offer a non-talk therapy called Somatic Trauma Therapy, which involves guided meditation, visualization, deep relaxation, and a physical release of emotion stored deep within your body in a safe and non-judgmental environment.

What is Somatic?

Somatic means “of the body;” and at Zen Wellness Center, it refers to the experience of releasing tension without using dialogue, but rather, closing your eyes and sensing what your body is feeling.

What is Somatic Trauma Therapy?

Some people let go of tension with drawn-out, long, deep sighs; others cry, laugh, scream into a pillow, or just express what they would have said instead in their most challenging moments. We are excited to announce our partnership as the official wellness center for the innovative MashUp Contemporary Dance Company in Frogtown (Silverlake, Riverfront), Los Angeles!
